Evidence of Jesus By Billy Graham   •   April 15   •   Topics: Bible, Truth SHARE TWEET Home Daily Devotion Evidence of Jesus I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore . . .—Revelation 1:18 Certain laws of evidence hold in the establishment of any historic event. Documentation of the event in question must be made by reliable contemporary witnesses. There is more evidence that Jesus rose from the dead than there is that Julius Caesar ever lived, or that Alexander the Great died at the age of 33. It is strange that historians will accept thousands of facts for which they can produce only shreds of evidence. But in the face of the overwhelming evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they cast a skeptical eye and hold intellectual doubts. The trouble with many people is that they do not want to believe. They are so completely prejudiced that they cannot accept the glorious fact of the resurrection of Christ on Bible testimony alone. Read how a skeptic came to believe in Christ and His resurrection.   Prayer for the day Lord Jesus, I know You are alive—for You live in the hearts of all those who love You!

Inspirational Readings by A.B. Simpson Days of Heaven on Earth Thursday, April 15, 2021 There is a very singular shrub which grows abundantly in the west and is to be found in all parts of Texas. The mesquite, sometimes called the "mosquito tree," is a very slim and willowy looking shrub and would seem to be of little use for any industrial purposes; but it has extraordinary roots growing like great timbers underground and possessing such qualities of endurance in all situations that it was once valued as pavement material. It is said that the city of San Antonio was once paved with these roots. The mosquito tree reminds us of those Christians who make little show externally, but their growth is chiefly underground-out of sight in the depth of God. These are the men and women that God uses for the foundations of things, and for the pavements of that city of God which will stand when all earthly things have crumbled into ruin and dissolved into oblivion.   Deeper, deeper let the living waters flow; Blessed Holy Spirit! River of Salvation! All Thy fullness let me know. Scripture Rooted and grounded in love —Ephesians 3:17

The Resurrection of Israel & the Dead Sea Scrolls Thursday, April 15, 2021   In the late 1940s, Israel stood on the brink of being resurrected from the dead. On November 29, 1947, Eleazer Sukenik, an Israeli archaeologist had discovered the oldest writings of Hebrew in the world - the Dead Sea Scrolls. On the other side of the globe, Sukenik's son was reporting the vote of each country from the newly-formed United Nations on whether Israel would be reborn or not. Israel was declared a nation after 2000 years of dispersion. At the same time, Sukenik was reading the ancient words of a Dead Sea Scroll prophecy based on Scripture, which lay hidden in the Israeli sands for 2000 years. The words on what was called the Scroll of Thanksgiving said: "I was driven from my home like a bird from its nest. I was cast down, but raised up again..." Isn't God awesome? At the very moment, He raised His ancient nation from the dead, letting his people know that it was by His hand that the miracle happened. God keeps His promises, and is faithful, even when His people of Israel didn't follow Him. How much more will He be faithful and keep His promises to you who follow Him? From Message #1407 - The Resurrection of Zion   Today's Mission Encourage yourself today with this fact - God has kept His promises to Israel for thousands of years - He will certainly be faithful and keep His promises to you!   Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:24   Rabbi Jonathan Cahn

The Holy Spirit: Showers that Water the Earth He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, like showers that water the earth. Psalm 72:6   The Holy Spirit is like Showers That Water the Earth. He will come upon His people like the necessary showers that give life to things on the earth. Sometimes He is like a pouring rain that drenches the earth and produces a flood. Sometimes He is like a gentle shower—a mist—that lightly sprinkles droplets upon the leaves and grass. Sometimes the ground doesn’t need a downpour; it’s already saturated. Sometimes on a hot sweltering day, you need a few rain showers to cool you off. You need a light drizzle to refresh your spirit. Let the Holy Spirit be your Shower of refreshment today.   Holy Spirit, I’m waiting for a Rain Shower. Lately it’s been hot, and I’m exhausted. Refresh me so I can continue walking by faith.   The Holy Spirit is like Showers That Water the Earth. Showers come when it’s been too hot; He’ll come when you’re tempted and tired. Most people stop working during showers; would this be a good time for you to get some rest? When the rain is gently falling, it’s a time to think and to enjoy the natural surroundings. Isn’t this a good time to look around, take stock of your work and prepare for the next task?   Holy Spirit, rain on me. I need Your gentle presence to refresh me. I’ve done a lot of things, and I’m tired. I’ve got some big tasks ahead of me, and I need some rest. Holy Spirit, refresh me today. Amen.   Go Deeper: Psalm 72:1-19   The Holy Spirit will refresh you like a rain Shower.

Lighthouse Ministries Daily Prayer Dear Lord God,   Thank You for never forsaking me.   I know that others in my life will fail me, but You never fail...   Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:4   Your love has transformed my heart and my life.   Please continue to mold me to be more like You.   I will lean on You as I go forth with my day.   I know that I can turn to You for all things.   And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28   My Lord Jesus, I believe in You and I desire that you would flow through me, as you taught us...   He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. John 7:38   Thank You for loving me, for healing me and for giving me a future and a hope...   For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11   In Jesus' powerful name I pray,   Amen.

Inspirational Readings by A.B. Simpson Days of Heaven on Earth Wednesday, April 14, 2021 A true and pure Christian life attracts the world. Men and women find no inducement whatever in the lives of mediocre Christians to interest them in practical religion, but they may be won at once by a true and victorious example. Men of the world tend to step directly into a life of entire consecration rather than into the intermediate state which is usually presented to them by the witnessing Christian. There was a man, a very prominent citizen, who for half a century or more had lived without Christ. He was a man in public life, a man of irreproachable character and manners, a man of lofty intellect. Although he displayed a most winning spirit, he was utterly out of sympathy with the Christian life. At the close of a service for the promotion of deeper spiritual life, he stood to ask the prayers of the congregation, and before the end of the week he was himself a true and acknowledged follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He had said, as he went home following the service, "If that is the religion of Jesus Christ, I want it." Scripture I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me —John 12:32

April 14 "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." - John 14:21 “Full disclosure” is a byword in our media-saturated, litigation-oriented society. “Spin” is the opposite. It is the effort to contort facts so they seem not to be what they are. Jesus desires to disclose Himself fully to His people, no spin, no facts concealed, no fine print. He won’t entrust Himself to the mass because He understands human nature (John 2:25). But those in intimate “blood” relation to Him through His salvation covenant will know Him fully. Throughout a life devoted to Christ, His mind will gradually expand in the soul of His beloved, transforming the worldview of Jesus’ disciple.

The Return of the Lord By Billy Graham   •   April 14   •   Topics: End Times SHARE TWEET Home Daily Devotion The Return of the Lord Our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ is; and we are looking forward to his return . . .—Philippians 3:20 (TLB) The Scriptures indicate that we are living in man’s day. But there is coming a day that will be called the Day of the Lord. In the midst of hopelessness, there is hope! And that hope is centered in the God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Now the will of man runs riot in the earth. Then the will of the Lord will alone be done. Until that time, we are under orders from the King of kings to proclaim His message. When we engage in evangelism, we are obeying His great command to “go and proclaim.” In doing so, we are hastening the day of His return. Learn how to simply share your faith with others. Prayer for the day As I live in the hope of Your return, give me the wisdom and love to reach those around me.
