It's twilight now,the pond is still
The geese fly down the darkened hill,
The heat of day begins to ease
In the gentle cool of evening's breeze.
My bare feet brush the dusty ground
That marks my path without a sound,
The gypsy dog runs from my side
To flush the grass where the rabbits hide.
And God, the gypsy dog & me
Walk on in silent reverie,
Toward the low & setting sun
That leaves the world when day is done.
The wild bird calls the coming night
That wakens with the firefly's light,
When dusk has settled dark & deep
And all the world has gone to sleep.
